Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) is one of the most attractive universities of applied sciences in Finland and offers education that develops working life and entrepreneurship, research and development services.

TUAS is the legal entity of this Turku-based partner in the AIROPico consortium. The Protein Production Laboratory at TUAS is central to the subproject dealing with the picornaviral antigen production and the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory is used for qPCR assay development. TUAS students are enrolled in these subprojects.



The University of Turku (UTU) is one of the largest universities in Finland. It is ranked 205th in QS world University Rankings (2013). The facilities and virus collections at the Virology Department and the UTU Lab for virus diagnostics are central to the success of the AIROPico project. UTU also has several core facilities that are essential for the success of the project. For example, the Bioimaging department of UTU has an extensive collection of state-of-the-art microscopes.
